Cassia Ward Wall Graphics

Being big kids ourselves, we embarked on the opportunity to be involved with the graphics fit out of a totally refurbished ward totaling over 1000sqm at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Jack Rabbit were successors of the contract based upon our experience and guidance in the specifications of the wall graphic and window vinyl, but it wasn’t until we started did we realise the extent of this project.

Each wall in the corridor sections and public thorough fair was covered with wall graphics. We used a specific low energy surface vinyl that would adhere to new paints that contained Teflon additives. The background of each print was colour matched to the paint as to blend in certain sections. We used an extra wide roll to minimise joins across these massive murals, bringing live to the new refurbishment. Each wall was  specially laminated to protect the wall graphics long term from cleaning solvents.

The glazing on the doors was achieved using a totally see through vinyl named optically clear, that shows no adhesive, making the non-printed section look like glass. This was the perfect opportunity to show our capabilities of white ink technology too, with certain percentages of white used to achieve the graphical requirement. Each of these were also laminated to withstand cleaning agents.

The job all came together at the last instance, with entrance graphics consisting of vinyl and identification signage that consisted of 3D Acrylic Lettering using polished acrylic and stainless steel.

The job took many hours to meet the pressing deadline. Luckily we had a supply of carrots from Farmer Joe that enabled us to see at night.
